It all started in a small shed in the middle of Meerkerk. Jo de Ruyter tinkered with his first cars there in the 1920s. A village garage soon emerged. Under the leadership of son Boeb de Ruyter, the garage grew into an all-round company specialized in commercial vehicles. We are now 100 years later and De Ruyter Trucks is run by Joop de Ruyter, the third generation within the family business, and his son-in-law Jan Baars.
In those 100 years we have grown into a household name in the region and far beyond. Within our company, about twenty employees are at your service every day. Some of them have forty or even more years of service to their name. And we're proud of that. But we are also fully open to the young generation. For example, we are a recognized training company and we work together with various educational institutions.
New or used commercial vehicles
De Ruyter supplies new and used commercial vehicles. From the smallest van to the heaviest tractor-trailer combination. Over the years, De Ruyter has mainly specialized in the DAF brand with regard to heavy and medium-heavy vehicles. A Dutch brand that stands for solidity and reliability. The correct vehicle specifications are determined in consultation with the customer and the body suppliers, after which the truck is further built in-house and equipped with the desired accessories. De Ruyter also takes care of all the necessary inspections, so that the truck is delivered ready for operation.
Import-Export
'The world is getting smaller and smaller.' This certainly applies to the trade in used commercial vehicles, which has acquired an increasingly international character. A large number of used trucks and vans are imported from and exported to the most diverse countries every year. Customers of many nationalities find their way to Meerkerk every day to return home with the vehicle of their choice. Often by road, but more and more vehicles are also being shipped to distant destinations. In order to steer this in the right direction, De Ruyter's administration department is fully equipped to provide the necessary export documents.
